Children's Ministry
"We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might, and the wonders that He has done."
-Psalm 78:4

Shepherding Families to Shepherd Their Families
We believe that the primary task of discipling children belongs to the parents. At Graham Emmanuel Baptist Church, we provide fun and formative children’s programs throughout the week that are designed to aid parents in teaching their children the Word of God and how to follow Christ. These programs include robust yet age-appropriate classes on Sunday, AWANA clubs on Wednesday nights, and other annual events that are engaging, safe, and Bible-based.
Although we strive to provide excellent discipling opportunities for children of all ages, participation is optional. As parents, you have the right to decide whether you want your children to attend church in a classroom setting or in worship service with the entire family. Each week, we create children’s bulletins with a sermon outline designed specifically for kids to fill out during the sermon. Turn it in and they might even win a free gift card to Chick-Fil-A one month!
Age Groups
Children are not required to be in any Sunday programs. In fact, we encourage parents to worship together with their children as a family during at least one service. But we also want to provide rich discipleship programs for children of all ages to hear and receive God's Word.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! Children's ministry is not meant to be a replacement of church, but an extension of it. We encourage families to attend the worship service with their children. We also encourage families to take their kids to Sunday school during second service, or to use the children's ministries available for the needs of their child. Children outlines are available to any kids wishing to sit in the worship service.
Yes! A professional background check conducted by the church office through a third party Christian service is conducted on all volunteers with children and youth every two years. A thorough ministry application is required for all volunteers as well. All children's ministry volunteers are believing adults who have attended the church for a prolonged period of time and have undergone extensive vetting and training. Proper protocols, paperwork, and first aid materials are available to all children's ministry volunteers. Your children are safe!
No! Wednesday nights are one of the most exciting times of the week. That's when we hold our Awana program (Pre-K thru 5th) and youth group (6th-12th), all at the same time! Men's and women's Bible studies are also available for parents dropping off their kids. Not only that, but we offer exciting children's events throughout the year like VBS, Easter Eggspedition, and the Grand Prix.
Yes! We make it our goal that every ministry at Graham Emmanuel Baptist Church is a ministry of the Word, meaning we want to use that time to teach people about God and the Bible! Children's ministry for us is never about babysitting or entertainment, it's teaching children how to now and love God through his Son Jesus Christ by teaching them Scripture in fun, engaging ways.
All of our children's programs, including VBS, are completely free! The one exception is Awana, where we charge $30 per family, regardless of the number of kids, and including all books and materials, for the entire year. This is one of the most affordable programs in the region, because we want everything we do for kids to be a financial blessing to their families.
