Membership
"Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it."
-1 Corinthians 12:27

Church isn't just something you go to, it's something you're a part of.
The Apostle Paul described the Church as the Body of Christ, where each individual was connected to and dependent on each other, and where all individuals were connected and dependent on Christ as their Head.
Our process of membership doesn't make someone a Christian, and it does not determine the spiritual maturity of a believer. What the process of local church membership does do is instill a biblical understanding of what it means to be part of the church, how to interact within the Church, and the purpose of the church.
Why Membership Matters
Makes the Gospel Central
Membership doesn't make someone a Christian, but membership provides an opportunity for believers to share their testimony of faith with the elders and the congregation, instilling the Gospel as the foundational ingredient to church community.
Creates a Culture of Longevity
In a culture of consumerism, people leave churches like they leave restaurants and clubs. Instead of treating church as a place to have your preferences met, membership instills a culture of commitment that enables Christians to endure at a church long term.
Promotes Humble Service
To see one's self as a part of the church, and not just an observer, encourages a heart of service that takes responsibility for the work of Christ's Body in the community. Membership is also required for certain serving opportunities.
Become a Member
Becoming a member is easy. It consists of four steps that are spread out conveniently over 2-3 months. Each step is required before being added to the membership list. In order to become a member, one must go to:
- Discovery Class
- Membership Class
- Elder Interview
- Membership Meeting
